Our Heritage
A Family of Jewellers, Not a Brand
PMJ started as a workshop in Hyderabad. The founders did not have investors or a marketing budget. They had a workbench, a set of tools, and the conviction that honest craftsmanship would find its own customers.

A 200-square-foot room behind Charminar
The founder was a third-generation goldsmith who had spent fifteen years working in other people's workshops. He saved enough to rent a small room, bought a set of tools, and started taking orders from families in the old city.
His rule was straightforward: make jewellery that the buyer's grandchildren would still want to wear. No shortcuts on purity, no skimping on weight, no designs copied from catalogues. Every piece was drawn on paper first, discussed with the customer, then made.

From plain gold to diamond-set masterpieces
By the 1990s, the second generation had joined the business. They saw that customers wanted more than plain gold โ they wanted diamond-studded pieces that caught light differently, that had a presence on the neck or the ear that gold alone could not achieve.
PMJ invested in diamond sourcing, built relationships with cutters in Surat and Antwerp, and trained its karigars in micro-setting and pave work. The shift was not overnight. It took a decade to get the quality right. But once it was right, it stayed right.

Multiple boutiques, same standards
The third generation expanded the business across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh โ Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam. Each boutique was designed to feel like a home, not a retail store. Customers sit, have chai, and take their time.
The family also invested in BIS hallmarking, GIA diamond certification, and a proper ERP system. The craft stayed the same; the back-office became professional.

India and the United States
PMJ Jewels now operates in two countries. Our showrooms in Edison, New Jersey and Irving, Texas serve the Telugu and South Indian diaspora โ families who want the same jewellery they grew up with, made the same way, available where they live now.
Every piece in our US collection is made by the same artisans who serve our Indian clientele. No separate production line. No shortcuts for export. The website you are on right now is the next step โ virtual try-ons, video consultations, and the ability to order a custom bridal set from your living room.
The Craft
How We Make Jewellery
Hand-drawn designs
Every new design starts as a pencil sketch. Our designers draw from temple architecture, Mughal miniatures, and Art Deco geometry โ depending on the collection.
Karigar workshops
Our karigars in Hyderabad work with wax casting, hand-setting, and meenakari techniques. A single bridal set can take four to six weeks.
Hallmarked & certified
All gold is BIS hallmarked. All diamonds above 0.30 carats come with a GIA report. We do not sell uncertified stones.
Come See for Yourself
